Job Description:
Are you an experienced Aircraft Mechanic? Our client is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic to join the Production Design, Verification, & Validation group (GAD5). The Aircraft Mechanic will perform work requiring knowledge of electro-dynamic and electro-hydraulic vibration shakers, thermal chambers, vacuum chambers, centrifuges, high-speed cameras, magnetic field testing, motion control systems, and other environmental test equipment with limited or no supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Follow standard operating procedures and test procedures for handling and testing of inertial equipment throughout the lab.
- Support shipping, receiving, tracking, moving, and inspection of guidance systems.
- Ensure proper documentation of all guidance logistics activities.
- Perform data collection utilizing portable vibration controls, data acquisition systems, and digital recorders per the SOP with limited or no supervision.
- Maintain test logs and record data during test operations of the test cell.
- Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Escort personnel and contractors, as required.
- Assist in the repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Maintain the laboratories organization and cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a two-year technical school with at least 5 years of applicable experience.
- Ability to configure and operate Unholtz-Dickie Apex vibration controllers and Precision Filters products with the assistance of technical personnel.
- Ability to configure and operate Acutronic controller products with the assistance of technical personnel.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude for torque wrenches and other installation tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on team operated test equipment.
- Ability to complete tasks on schedule with minimal supervision.
- Ability to carefully documents their own work consistent with work unit policy in handwritten form or using common computer-based software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of vibration, shock, acoustic, pressure, linear and angular acceleration, and thermal theory is a plus.
- Key certifications to support the facility operations (i.e., Facility Casualty certified, Crane certified, and ESD certified).
- Due to the nature of the work, an active Secret government security clearance is required.
- Candidates must be a United States Citizen as the laboratory is a cleared facility.
