Title 1 Summer Success Program

**Dates**:Monday - Thursday, July 8, 2022 - August 1, 2022 (4 days a week for a month)

**Location**:Hosmer School

**Hours**:8:30-12:00 pm with 30 min of prep a day plus one 1-hour orientation 1 “day” of set up/clean up and a weekly 30-minute faculty meeting.

**Rate of Pay**: $35.00 per hour

**Number of Positions**: 4

**The responsibilities may include**:
This position would be on call in the morning as well as for planned absences. Pay would be determined by how many days worked.

Teach grouping of students in grades K-5. (Grouping would not exceed 10)
- Use Responsive classroom management - morning meeting and closing circle
- Conduct whole group and small group literacy lessons
- Encourage a love of reading and talking about books
- Work with students on writing in response to reading
- Implement the Literacy Camp curriculum and incorporate creative activities as needed

**Required knowledge, skills, & abilities**
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students.
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy instruction, and comfortable modeling instruction when needed
- Holds the belief that all children can learn and learn to read and write effectively
- Familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices, language, and beliefs
- An ability to engage students in using all 4 domains: listening, reading, speaking, and writing
- Having students engage in academic conversations during every class
- Attend pre-program training and weekly faculty meetings.

**Education/Experience**:

- A current Massachusetts Teaching License/Certification
- Three or more successful years of experience teaching students in literacy, preferred
