The People & Development Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic execution of Human Resources programs to the Retail team. You will provide counsel to leaders in a rapidly changing environment by fostering productive cross-functional relationships with internal and cross-functional partners and identifying issues and initiating solutions in line with company policy and support of business direction. As well as lead end to end employee investigations and provide day to day employee relations support. Teamwork, relationship management, effective communication, coaching, and problem solving are critical aspects of this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:

- Partner with the Senior District Director to identify staffing needs, support the selection & hiring process for General Manager and Associate Manager positions.
- Support in New Store Opening projects, when needed.
- Ensure a consistent and successful onboarding employee experience for all levels of management. Partner on onboarding plans with Senior District Director and Learning & Development.

Employee Engagement & Retention:

- Actively identify and seek to resolve drivers of employee turnover and implement best practices to retain top talent. Advocate for initiatives that will positively impact the employee population.
- Support the field population with talent initiatives including Success Drivers launch, diversity and inclusion communities and other Ralph Lauren talent programs.

Talent and Performance Management:

- Drive and manage the Annual Performance Management (Pathway to Growth) Cycle. Support with Talent Review process and provide strategic guidance and recommendations for employee development, succession planning, and retention of high potential talent.
- Partner with Senior District Director to identify gaps in talent and create clearly defined succession planning within region.

Employee Relations:

- Support, coach and advise leadership with all employee relations and performance management matters. Manage conflict resolution, complaints and conduct investigations for timely resolution. Make recommendations and partner with the Global People Practices and Legal teams ensuring consistency with organizational policy, practice and provincial regulations.
- Analyze store trends, data and lead proactively to resolve disputes. Conduct climate surveys across the region when appropriate.

Change Management and Project Management:

- Coach employees through change and encourage adaptive behaviors to ensure individual and team success.
- Lead P&D functional projects and business-related projects, as required.
- Monitor, analyze and report on relevant data to ensure consistent process improvement and positive change.

Learning & Development:

- Partner with the Learning & Development team to support talent/leadership development initiatives.
- Identify training gaps and interventions to address leadership and store team development and performance issues.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to Senior District Director regarding their personal development plans and the development of their teams.

HR Administration & Employee Maintenance:

- Responsible for ensuring compliance of all required provincial employment practices across Canada in partnership with Legal and Global People Practices.
