**Status**: Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, Hourly pay $21

**Schedule**:Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. This position requires availability for occasional weekends and evening events.

**Summary**: Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) is looking for a compassionate, mission-driven individual to join the Development Team as a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator ensures smooth, day-to-day warehouse volunteer operations and provides impactful and positive volunteer experiences at the Food Bank.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead year-round efforts to develop efficient volunteer opportunities and fundraising events with the Development Team to meet the fiscal year budget goals.
- Assist in the development of new and ongoing volunteer appreciation events.
- Develop a plan in conjunction with the Volunteer Services Supervisor to recruit and retain new volunteers, with a focus on Community Groups and regular volunteers.
- Create and maintain the Volunteer Center to be a welcoming environment.
- Build and maintain the Volunteer Leadership Program.
- Lead warehouse tours for Volunteers, Corporate Sponsors, and other guests as needed.
- Promote sales of FARSB merchandise and promotional products.
- Develop and supervise volunteers to assist in the food recovery process.
- Train volunteers on the proper methods of food recovery and sorting.
- Ensure adequate supplies are available to perform volunteer functions.
- Ensure all equipment is operated properly and safely.
- Inspects recovered food products upon arrival at the Food Bank.
- Maintain a quality control checklist for the food recovery area.
- Conduct quality control inspections of food recovery according to Feeding America requirements.
- Sorting, packaging, and processing donated produce from our Gleaning Program.
- Verify volunteer attendance for Board Members, Off-Site Distributions, and Special Events.
- Perform miscellaneous support and administrative duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Must be reliable, have a dependable vehicle, and possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and insurance.
- Strong customer service skills and experience working with the public with excellent public speaking skills.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task daily. Plus, is creative and adaptable to change.
- Ability to prioritize big-picture ideas and execute them into tangible actions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to present effective and compelling messages to individuals, groups, and the public.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, volunteers, and donors.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge in CRM databases is a plus with one of the following or similar systems: Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or DonorPerfect.
- Flexibility to work extra hours for Development related weekends/evening special events.

**Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Organization Requirements**
- Regularly required to stand, reach, use hands
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Move, push, or pull up to 2,000 lbs. with the help of pallet jacks, forklifts, or related equipment
- Extended periods of sitting at desk on phone and computer
- Warehouse environment with moderate noise at food bank location
- Occasional exposure to cleaning agents
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
