PRIMARY ROLE: The Community Engagement Coordinator is tasked with overseeing and supporting the Manager of Community Engagement in the daily functions and execution of the Family Services Initiative. This role encompasses the organization and facilitation of various classes, workshops, events, and services. The Coordinator will play a crucial role in fostering relationships and networking with community partners, educational leaders, Boys & Girls Club management, and other relevant stakeholders as required. Effective communication and coordination with Club Directors and Site Coordinators will be essential to ensure the availability of Club facilities for specialized programming. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist in data collection to generate reports that emphasize attendance, classes, workshops, and both new and existing partnerships. This position is vital for the overall enhancement, development, and expansion of the Family Services Initiative.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership: Assist in the development and management of the kitchen operations, ensuring food quality is a priority for family success.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with local organizations to broaden access to social and community services.
- Guarantee the timely and successful delivery of food services.
- Act as a liaison with food banks, local educational institutions, and community organizations to cultivate partnerships at a logistical level.
- Support the implementation of policies and procedures that comply with all relevant grant requirements.
- Monitor, collect, and report necessary data from each Club site to fulfill grant-reporting obligations.
- Manage food distribution sign-ups efficiently.
- Collaborate with community partners to successfully implement healthy lifestyle and community service initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Program Management:
- Continuously evaluate grant programs, reporting outcomes according to set deadlines while addressing the food needs of members and families.
- Ensure the kitchen meets health inspection standards.
- Assist in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of grant programs, services, and activities to align with objectives and meet member needs.
- Compile regular reports detailing activities, inventory, attendance, food distribution, and kitchen compliance.
Partnership Development:
- Help establish and manage partnerships with organizations, members, families, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in recruiting families and conducting necessary meetings related to the Family Services Initiative.
- Advocate for Club members and youth by engaging with schools and other youth service organizations.
Marketing and Public Relations:
- Enhance the visibility of Club programs through effective communication of schedules, events, and timely information dissemination.
- Collaborate with Site Directors and Program Services Director in planning and executing special events.
- Represent the Club to interested groups by coordinating speaking engagements with the Administrative Office.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- May oversee or assist with specific programs or activities.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability for weekends and alternative hours for special events.
- This role may involve working at various Boys & Girls Club locations.
- Responsible for purchasing or approving the acquisition of supplies and equipment.
- May require driving a passenger van or similar vehicle.
- Must be capable of lifting 40 lbs.
- Food handlers certification is required.
- CPR certification must be obtained.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Associate's degree, or equivalent experience in planning and supervising activities for at least 3 years.
- Proven ability in project and program management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to recruit, train, manage, and motivate individuals.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Valid driver's license is required.
