Job Description Brief about the role: A dynamic executive with 10-15 yrs+ hands-on experience in the Medical Communications Industry (strongly desired but we would entertain pharma) who has successfully led diverse teams of Account, Operations, and Scientific professionals in strategic marketing and medical partnerships with the Pharma, Biotech and/or Healthcare industries. Candidates from Advertising Agency, not eligible for this role General Summary This position is responsible for providing the strategic and tactical direction of existing business and the development of new business, and to manage a team of Account Directors. Fundamental Duties and Responsibilities Oversight of existing client business (revenue preservation) Ensure existing business is exceeding client expectations. Strategically work to have all applicable business renewed for the following year, increase account penetration and ‘footprint” and increase overall account sales/service. Function as primary liaison to middle and senior-level clients on behalf of the agency with regard to strategic, service-related, and policy issues. Possess a solid understanding of the clients’ business and industry trends. Identify, organize and focus Phoenix resources needed to achieve total client satisfaction. Monitor financials and profitability from client to identify problems or opportunities. Develop, foster and coordinate client senior management and Phoenix senior management interaction. Sell new services within existing accounts by penetrating new departments, brand teams, divisions and business units. Develop and execute a sales call plan including pre-call planning, strategy, customer service needs assessment, and market overview. Assist in the development of proposal strategy. Deliver pitches/presentations to customers and prospects. Prepare quotes, budgets/RFPs; submission to clients. Liaise with sales/service team to achieve operational excellence. Attend client status meetings on a regular basis. Facilitate and delegate client review process for printed materials and field communications; interface with client copy review/legal review. Direct Operations and Sales/Service to ensure client deliverables are met. Attend daily status team meetings as needed. Facilitate and delegate all aspects of content development including providing direction to internal scientific and editorial team members. Perform other duties and assignments as directed. Management and oversight of Account Directors Leads, mentors, and trains direct reports in support of company business goals. Manages adherence to policies and procedures within scope of authority. Oversees team’s client interactions and provides resource decisions to meet client-driven needs and expectations.
