This position focuses on outside business-to-business sales through lead generation and client development to grow the representative’s portfolio and the company’s success. This role requires a motivated team player with exceptional communication and listening skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to be self-motivated and take direction. This position involves generating new business and managing client accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Generate outside leads and prospect new business opportunities through tele-qualifying, field-qualifying, referrals, and staying informed on the area’s market opportunities and changes.
- Effectively grow and manage the client pipeline from lead generation to client account management.
- Provide a high level of customer service while explaining the company’s services and benefits to potential and existing clients. Strengthen and maintain client relationships through frequent visits, phone calls, emails, promotional materials, lunch meetings, and entertainment such as sporting events and outings.
- Utilize various tools and resources to maximize the territory’s business potential, such as researching market changes, effectively qualifying businesses’ needs, and executing high-yielding call plans and strategies.
- Research and develop an understanding of clients’ business and their needs to best represent and sell the company’s services.
- Typical schedule: Monday (Admin day/generating leads-home office); Tuesday-Friday out in the field.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence for building relationships.
- 2+ years of outside sales domestic experience within a “white glove” high-end value logistics company required.
- Must live within the San Francisco area or within a 20-30 mile radius. Not looking to relocate someone; need someone locally who knows the market.
- Good networking skills and the ability to handle numerous companies and clients.
- Ability to tenaciously work under pressure and execute sales initiatives.
- Effectively articulate service benefits in a way that engages clients’ attention.
- Resilience and a willingness to deal with rejection while remaining self-motivated and determined.
- Excellent organization and time management capabilities, including being a team player.
- Ability to execute job functions through creative and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Able to pass a background screen.
- Uncapped commission in addition to a competitive base salary.
