DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:Pipeline Growth & Readiness (PGR) exists to create a wide and deep pool of highly engaged donors to programs and units across OSU, helping donors discover their philanthropic passions and implementing strategic tactics and partnerships to aid donors in realizing their full philanthropic potential.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Director of Pipeline Growth, the Digital Experience Officer (DXO) will use a combination of digital channels (including video, texting, phone, social media, and virtual visits) to build relationships and solicit funds for OSU by providing constituents with concierge engagement experiences. DXOs will focus exclusively on building relationships with donors and prospects, closing and stewarding leadership-level annual to mid-sized gifts ($1,000 to $24,999), and identifying new major gift leads. The primary goal of this position is to build a pipeline of major and planned gift donors.

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
  • Manage and build relationships with a rolling portfolio of 300+ prospects and generate solicitation and engagement touchpoints at scale.
  • Establish a regular cadence of communication touchpoints using a variety of digital channels including social media platforms, email, texting, and video.
  • Create messaging which allows for widescale engagement of portfolio through multiple channels to inspire philanthropic giving.
  • Upgrade constituent's regular giving to their OSU philanthropic passions.
  • Integrate DXO outreach with PGR campaigns to align philanthropic messaging to include OSUF Development initiatives.
  • Hand off warm major, planned, and principal gift leads to appropriate colleagues for cultivation and solicitation.
  • Become an expert in university-wide engagement and giving opportunities to customize experiences for individual prospects. Collaborate with unit colleagues to help align donors' philanthropic interests with various priorities across campus.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Creative approach to strategically marketing to members of an assigned portfolio, at mass and at a one-to-one level.
  • Curiosity about the role and embracing innovative approaches to fundraising.
  • Ability to inspire and share stories of impact verbally and through visual mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships and actively contribute as a member of working teams to achieve results.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, take initiative, set priorities, and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with strong OSU affiliation, prior development experience (including sales, call center experience, or volunteer/student ambassador experience), or a combination of the two.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country.Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types.Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation.
