Key responsibilities include supporting WRNS Studio’s vibrant studio culture, ensuring legal and licensing compliance, and partnering with leaders across functions to streamline and optimize business operations. The HR Director will lead our HR and administrative teams in day-to-day operations, driving excellence and consistency throughout the firm. This position is full time, in person in the San Francisco office.

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities: Studio
  • Oversees the daily workflow of both the administration and human resources departments.
  • Collaborates with leaders across WRNS Studio’s different functions, including finance, marketing, communications, and information technology to guide, support, and align on firm-wide operations, budgeting, communications, culture, and workflows.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior leadership.
  • Leads the HR team in conducting research and analysis of organizational trends including the review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information systems (HRIS).
  • Guides and administers human resource programs including, but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, wellness, and training and development.
  • Helps plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Leads and administers human resources-related benchmark and reporting programs such as the JUST Label.
  • Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Travels as needed to studio locations.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Staff Development
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to identify and implement the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities and overall employee experience.
  • Develops and executes firm-wide performance evaluations.
  • Works with the recruitment committee to conduct interviews and hire candidates.
Compliance
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance in all our locations.
  • Manages and tracks partnership licensure renewals, CE, and NCARB.
  • Manages and tracks immigration to include OPT, H1B Visa status.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least ten years of human resource management experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred.
  • Experience in AEC firms preferred.
