Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Coordinator to support two critical high-profile accounting projects. This role encompasses project management for a software replacement initiative and change management services for regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing complex projects, driving change within organizations, and navigating the nuances of software and accounting compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project management activities for the MONET software replacement project. Coordinate efforts to replace the existing power cost forecasting model with a new tool.
  • Drive the coordination of project timelines, deadlines, testing cycles, and deployment processes. Ensure all project deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Work with a core team of 5 financial modelers and two primary stakeholder groups (~10 key contributors) to gather requirements, address concerns, and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage change management services related to the adoption of the new accounting rule effective 1/1/2025. Facilitate the transition by addressing the needs of approximately 300+ end users.
  • Scope impacted parties, assess training and communication needs, and develop strategies to ensure effective adoption of the new accounting rules. Draft and deploy communication materials to inform and train end-users on changes.
  • Identify and analyze changes to accounting strings, budgets, and other relevant areas to ensure smooth adaptation and compliance.

A Day in the Life:

  • Begin by reviewing project status, coordinating with team members, and updating project plans. Engage with stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
  • Meet with team members and impacted end-users to assess training and communication needs. Develop and deploy materials and strategies to drive understanding and adoption of the new accounting rules.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of 5 financial modelers and two stakeholder groups, each comprising ~5 key contributors. Utilize project management tools and software to track progress and manage tasks.
  • Work within a broad project team of approximately 50+ individuals, focusing on change management for a diverse audience of 300+ end users.

Top Priorities for the First Few Weeks/Months:

  • Get up to speed on the project, develop a comprehensive project timeline, and create a detailed project plan.
  • Identify the impacted population, evaluate training and communication requirements, and begin developing change management strategies.

Biggest Challenges:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform the decision-making process for selecting the software replacement, addressing the extensive needs of stakeholders.
  • Manage a broad-reaching program with multiple target audiences, each with varying levels of involvement and understanding.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record managing software or system implementation projects.
  • Experience in change management and corporate communications, with the ability to drive adoption and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize two high-profile projects, each with its own timelines and deliverables.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project management and change management.

Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but significant project management experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • PMP Certification preferred but not required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of accurately exchanging information in both written and oral formats.
