Organizational Background

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Attends Inclusion, Equity, Diversity, and Access (IDEA) sexual harassment, and any other anti-bias training and workshops as scheduled by the institution.

2. Models and supports the mission and values of OSF by:

a. Demonstrating inclusive behavior.

b. Maintaining a safe working environment free from any aggressions.

c. Recognizing micro-aggressions and interrupting behaviors that hinder OSF’s diversity and inclusion efforts. Accounts Receivable/Payable

3. Verify, process, collect and track accounts receivable for both earned and contributed income.

4. Reconcile work, verify entries and compare reports to balances from a variety of software and sources.

5. Act as the primary contact for use of on-line invoicing and payment software.

6. Provide AP support during times of heavy volume Payroll & Benefits

7. Maintain, update and assist employees with OSF retirement plans

8. Manage information flow between departments regarding employee benefits

9. Maintain and report Annuitant information

10. Provide Payroll and Payroll Accounting backup to Payroll Administrator Company & Department Support

11. Assists Finance Office walk-ins and requests for information

12. Retrieve and distribute all incoming Finance and Business Office mail and general department emails

13. Run & distribute both monthly and ad hoc accounting reports

14. Organize department files, scan, and file paperwork electronically

15. Maintain accounting controls by recommending and following policies and procedures.

16. Identify process issues and make recommendations to resolve them.

17. Continually develop skills and knowledge through assigned and self-directed training

18. Provide input into department’s goal setting process.

19. Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.

20. Other duties that the Finance Director or Accounting Lead may assign.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

1+ Years bookkeeping or accounting experience.

1+ Year experience with Payroll and Retirement Plan Administration. Excellent organization and customer services skills.

Familiarity with sorting, grouping and basic functions in Excel.

Other Skills, Ability and/or Knowledge: Excellent Customer Service Skills. Excellent Organizational Skills, Ability to quickly learn new software.

Physical Ability: Sit at desk for long periods, bend, lift, file

Hours Requirements: 8 hours day/5 days week

Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Certificate or Degree in accounting. 3+ Years bookkeeping, payroll or other accounting experience
