About the Role

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - A Key Leadership Position

The CFO will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of all finance activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. This role will involve directing financial activities, preparing reports, and providing strategic recommendations to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Finance Teams: Direct and oversee the finance, accounting, administrative, and procurement teams to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Provide Strategic Recommendations: Offer strategic guidance to the CEO/president and executive management team on financial matters, including business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare Financial Reports: Develop and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key financial performance indicators and trends.
  • Establish Risk Management Processes: Develop and maintain risk management processes, including internal controls, compliance, IT, and operational risks, to ensure the company's financial stability and security.
  • Manage Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Oversee the development and implementation of financial forecasting and budgeting processes to ensure accurate and timely financial planning.
  • Advise on Long-Term Business Planning: Provide strategic guidance on long-term business planning, including market analysis, competitor research, and financial projections.
  • Develop Relationships with Stakeholders: Build and maintain relationships with senior management, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Review and Improve Financial Procedures: Regularly review and improve finance, procurement, and IT-related procedures to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Advise on Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide strategic guidance on mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning.
  • Manage Cash Flow and Investments: Oversee the management of cash flow, investments, budgeting, foreign exchange, and financial reporting to drive financial strategy and performance.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Develop and maintain company-wide KPIs to measure financial performance and drive business improvement.
  • Coordinate Budget Development: Coordinate the development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, and monitor performance against these budgets.
  • Oversee Accounting and Reporting: Oversee day-to-day accounting, reporting, and internal control activities to ensure compatible cash flow with company operations.
  • Lead Best Practices Development: Lead the development and implementation of best practices to ensure strong fiscal management, project management, and cross-team communication.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory financial requirements and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Strong Financial Acumen: Possess strong financial acumen and business management skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrate leadership skills with a focus on team development, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Risk Management: Possess risk management skills through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and the ability to evaluate and manage capital structure.

  • Experience in Raising Capital: Possess experience in raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit, with the ability to develop and implement effective capital-raising strategies.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics: Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics, with an MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ Years of Experience in Finance: Possess 10+ years of experience in the finance industry, with a proven track record of excellence.
  • 5+ Years in Executive Leadership Positions: Possess 5+ years in executive leadership positions, with experience working with a Board of Directors in a PE setting or publicly traded company.
  • Manufacturing and International Experience: Possess experience working in manufacturing and international environments, with the ability to adapt to diverse cultural and business settings.
  • Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions: Possess experience with mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning.
