A state of the art facility in the heart of Manhattan is looking for a Director of Admissions and Family Programming for their pre-school. The candidate will lead and manage the admissions process and family programming across all school campuses. The ideal Director will be responsible for increasing enrollment, enhancing family engagement, and representing the school’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities:

Admissions Outreach:

  • Work towards increasing enrollment at all campuses
  • Manage all email communication, inquiry forms, application forms and Website correspondence in regards to admissions for all centers
  • Manage all communication (including reviewing and updating canned responses) in regards to admissions for all centers with response time in 24 hour time period, with a goal of 12 hour turnaround time
  • Manage and update all social media platforms
  • Manage all incoming requests for admission, outgoing mailings, PR, and communication with potential parents
  • Be in constant communication with Finance office for follow up and oversight of deposits for secured spots
  • Oversee full admissions timetable
  • Manage all paperwork for acceptance, wait list and rejection letters
  • Oversee and brainstorm efficiency of admission process and re-evaluate systems as necessary (Fall and Spring)
  • Plan and execute Open House and School tours with site directors
  • Plan and execute innovative family programs to spread awareness of our program to local families to increase applicants and enrollments(music in the park, Tot Shabbat etc to engage new families)
  • Suggest and initiate school promotional materials and opportunities (ex: ensure continuous stock of materials, flyers, brochures, ads, and ‘swag)

Inreach Initiatives:

  • Communicate with current families and siblings (through site directors) for re-enrollment with early bird discount
  • Communicate special events, Summer Of the Arts program and after school programs with current families and alumni
  • Create a google doc to receive parent feedback and share with directors for follow up and correction plan when necessary
  • Create parent ambassadors to maintain positive relationships to administration and school as a whole

Forms, Website, Advertising, and Public Relations:

  • Review, edit and update application forms, canned responses and acceptance letters (August)
  • Review, edit and update Preschool of the Arts Website ensuring new dates are included for admissions process, open house dates, tour dates (August and September- Deadline is Labor Day)
  • Review and update website with school events to keep the site current and engaging (ongoing)
  • Use all social media platforms (including LinkedIn, Instagram, Mommy groups and forums, chat groups) as a means to spread awareness , share open house dates and Family Programming
  • Review current systems (Brightwheel, Website, Mail chimp, Google docs with Tech and HR to streamline and ensure efficiency

New School Year Transition (Begins the year before the academic year):

  • Oversee creation of new academic year school calendars (March)
  • Oversee and execute New Parent Orientation with site directors (May)
  • Oversee email/ mailings for new and returning students for the upcoming school year (June and August)
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in admissions management or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood
  • Experience in creating and managing family programs and events.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
