Position Overview

The Assistant Director for Graduate Admission at Mediabistro will report directly to the Senior Director for Liberal Arts, Social Research & Professional Studies Admission. This role is pivotal in overseeing daily communication initiatives for graduate programs and representing the full spectrum of graduate degree offerings at various recruitment events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative for Mediabistro's graduate programs in recruitment and admission activities, including special events.
  • Conduct interviews and provide guidance to prospective students regarding admission criteria and financial aid options.
  • Manage the processing and evaluation of admission applications for designated graduate programs.
  • Collaborate with academic programs to enhance recruitment and outreach efforts.
  • Lead team operations, including the hiring and training of student ambassadors and overseeing the creation of digital marketing materials.
  • Review and manage admission files for graduate applicants.
  • Participate in strategic planning for innovative recruitment events, including information sessions and webinars.
  • Analyze reports to evaluate the effectiveness of admission policies and merit awards.
  • Work closely with the Director of Graduate Admission to develop and implement recruitment strategies.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in admissions.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must possess a valid work permit for employment.
  • Availability for weekend and evening work during peak admission periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with BANNER, Slate, and Adobe Suite is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in graduate admissions is preferred.

Work Environment

  • This position operates in a hybrid work model, with a consistent schedule of on-campus and remote work.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $69,000, commensurate with experience.
