Job Description

This position is responsible for processing leave of absences and worker’s compensation in a timely manner as well as supporting safety initiatives as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Leave of Absences and disability claims complying with FMLA and state/local regulations which includes and is not limited to the following:
    • Prepare leave packets with required notices
    • Follow up on outstanding documentation
    • Continue communication with those on leave
    • Communicate expected return to work
    • Update leave tracking information
  • Process work comp claims and follow up with manager’s and injured employees which includes and is not limited to the following:
    • Gather required claim information and documentation
    • Submit claim to TPA
    • Support and actively manage and follow up with TPA on claim management
    • Follow up with employee supervisor and employee for continued communication throughout the claim as appropriate
    • Update work comp tracking information and notes
  • Actively engage in the interactive process for accommodation requests which includes and is not limited to the following:
    • Gather information and documentation
    • Prepare letters and correspondence
    • Continue ongoing dialogue with employee’s supervisor and employee as appropriate
  • Partner with the Human Resources Employee Relations team as needed.
  • Process annual OSHA reporting and postings.
  • Maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) Driver employee files.
  • Track, report, and follow up on quarterly random DOT drug testing.
  • Facilitate and document safety meetings.
  • Prepare Safety Spotlight ongoing trainings.
  • Facilitate, partner and update Hazard Assessments.
  • Support safety projects, initiatives, and communication as directed by management.
  • Act as a back-up to other processes within the department.
  • Perform data entry of any type with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service for our employees and others.
  • Additional projects under the direction of management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 plus years of human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong data entry speed and efficiency.
  • Experience with UKG Pro preferred but not required.
  • Experience processing leave of absences and worker’s compensation, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work with confidential information is essential.
  • Ability to stay on task and focused in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to quickly learn software and other technology.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, very fast paced environment with quick turnaround times.
  • Ability to inquire for clarity on tasks and projects.
