Technical Support Specialist for our client, who specializes in delivering reliable, secure, and scalable wireless connectivity services, primarily using cellular technology, to join their team for a long term contract assignment in their Carlsbad office.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus of provisioning, supporting and shipping telecommunication devices to new and existing customers, the Technical Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring product are configured, tested and shipped in a timely manner to their customer base.
  • This position will be responsible for testing features and functionality in new firmware builds, flashing routers, quality assurance testing of products, packaging, and shipping devices.
  • In addition, this position will assist their technical services team by handling triage of inbound Tier I technical support calls on a wide variety of 4G and 5G wireless routers and being able to identify when to escalate from Tier I Tech Support.
  • Responsible for logging all calls and creating tickets in the current customer support software system.
  • Shipping responsibilities include packaging, generating labels, and updating the customer ordering tool with tracking numbers.
  • You will primarily contribute to, and support hardware and software deployments for Cradlepoint and AReS systems, with a strong focus on troubleshooting customer issues.
  • Follow documented procedures for asset management, application support, hardware maintenance, new customer onboarding, network support, and POTS lines.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of knowledge of Networks, computer systems, and general troubleshooting specially relating to LAN/WAN issues.
  • Understanding of various infrastructure technologies such as WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience deploying and supporting operating systems, including Windows and Linux
  • Experience with Cradlepoint or other gateway IOT devices supporting 4G/5G routers and modems.
  • Ability to understand and validate NetCloud OS configuration for device configuration.
  • Ability to work with Cisco gear and command line

Preferred Requirements

  • 1+ years of Network and System Support and/or Service Desk Administration experience supporting external customers
  • Office365 applications knowledge
  • Basic Linux OS knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Experience with asset management and standard inventory practices.
  • An associate degree in IT Technology or relevant experience, a degree in IT, computer science preferred CCNA, CompTIA, Network+ is a plus, and desktop and client-side related certifications desired.
