Job purpose
This role involves carrying out direct sales activities in the Ocala and Lake County territory. The responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with key referral personnel in the area and identifying new opportunities to expand market presence and drive growth in the region.
Duties and responsibilities
- Works with the Business Development Executive Director and Operations teams to develop annual sales/marketing plans for all primary company offerings within the Ocala and Lake County territory.
- Spends 90% of the time outside the office in productive in-person sales/marketing.
- Will be expected to write, speak, and present to customers and stakeholders daily.
- Development of market-specific growth strategies with the Executive Director to increase volume, revenue, and SMP’s overall share in that market.
- Manage in-the-field activities that result in more referrals from critical accounts and establish referrals from new accounts.
- Accomplishes agreed-upon number of sales calls and other determined key performance indicators as directed by the Executive Director.
- Develops and manages initial contact, as necessary, meetings and follow-up.
- Procedures that result in a 65% commitment rate from qualified inquiries.
- Works with the direct support of the Executive Director in developing and implementing internal in-servicing of critical employees regarding their role in the sales/marketing process.
- Identifies and recommends the development of new product/service offerings and current service enhancement.
- Maintains up-to-date information on overall service trends and competitors, including census, service information, census, and marketing strategies.
- Facilitate strategic relationships and assist in the development of recruitment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with referral account personnel.
- Resolve customer concerns and inquiries.
- Travel as needed to annual Trade Shows, Corporate/ Networking Events.
Qualifications
- Must be within reasonable commuting distance of Ocala and Lake County area for daily commute.
- Minimum of two years’ sales and marketing experience; Some work in a healthcare or related field.
- Thorough understanding of the healthcare market and referral sources, including acute care and post-acute markets.
- Knowledgeable of administrative practices and procedures related to the marketing department.
- Working experience with an insurance company, private case management company, or HMO is preferred.
- Ability to effectively utilize both local and corporate resources in the execution of job responsibility.
- Proven history of achieving or exceeding established conversion goals.
- Able to execute tasks without day-to-day oversight.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of individuals.
- Public speaking and in-service training experience.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Ability to travel in various forms of transportation.
