Senior Payroll Analyst

Location Oakland, CA 94609

Contract duration 13 weeks, with strong possibility of extension

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years related experience, including payroll accounting background required. Former health care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with payroll and timekeeping systems required (ADP and UKG preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Federal and State Wage and hour Laws, including the correct calculations for overtime, impact of bonus calculations to non-exempt staff, and penalty pay calculations standard in a health care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations.
  • Recent Hospital Kronos timecard editing.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles related to payroll processing.
  • Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to change priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Ability to interpret, explain, and comply with collective bargaining agreements, prescribed laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of organizational structures, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of payroll data.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and correct errors.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and other related forms.
  • Ability to analyze information or procedures, define problems or objectives, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and recognize alternatives and their implications.
  • Knowledge of payroll database systems (ADP or UKG preferred).
  • Knowledge of KRONOS time and attendance system
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)

Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field preferred. College credits in accounting preferred.

Additional Minimum Requirements: CPP Certification Preferred
