The Senior Risk Management Director is a strategic leader responsible for the comprehensive oversight and implementation of the organization's risk management framework. This role involves assessing and mitigating risks across all business functions to protect the company's assets, reputation, and stakeholder interests. The Senior Risk Management Director will work closely with executive leadership to integrate risk management into strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive the organization's risk management strategy in alignment with business objectives.

  • Provide thought leadership on risk management best practices and emerging trends.

  • Advise the executive team and board of directors on risk-related matters and present regular risk assessment reports.

  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks across the organization.

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, audits, and scenario analyses to evaluate potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and controls.

  • Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Ensure the organization's risk profile is within acceptable limits through continuous monitoring and adjustments.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and adjust risk management practices accordingly.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing risk management team.

  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.

  • Oversee the development and execution of incident response and crisis management plans.

  • Coordinate responses to risk events, ensuring swift and effective resolution.

  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate risk management into business processes and decision-making.

  • Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and industry groups, to advocate for the organization's risk management interests.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM, PRM) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in risk management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive risk management strategies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Experience with advanced risk management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and make strategic decisions under pressure.
