Job Overview:

KMM is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Logistics Operations (VP of LO) to lead our warehouse management and logistics operations, reporting direct to KMM’s President. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic vision and robust leadership to oversee both our cable cutting operations and our warehousing and distribution operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and the highest standards of quality and service. This executive role is critical for driving operational excellence and sustaining KMM’s growth trajectory.

The VP of LO has significant profit and loss (P&L) ownership and is responsible for monitoring operational costs, identifying areas for financial improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance profitability across all warehouse and logistics operations. The role requires a deep understanding of financial metrics and the ability to align operational performance with KMM’s financial goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of numerous warehouse facilities across the country, ensuring seamless operations, optimal inventory levels, and the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Oversee the management of the Logistics Customer Service Team, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, precise inventory accuracy, regular cycle counts, efficient shipping and receiving operations, and stringent quality control measures.
  • Oversee the coordination of cable cutting operations, including planning, procurement, production, and delivery, to meet customer demands and KMM objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for logistics and transportation management to enhance distribution efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversees the facility management of all warehousing and operational facilities, to include lease management, repairs and maintenance, and safety conditions.
  • Lead profit and loss (P&L) management for operations, setting financial targets, and implementing measures to control costs and maximize profitability.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and other operational best practices.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to a direct team of warehouse and logistics managers, and an overall operational staff of approximately 30 employees, located throughout the United States.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational strategies with the KMM’s long-term goals and market trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards across all areas of responsibility.
  • Drive innovation in operational processes and technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the telecommunications industry.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support operational efficiency and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing logistics operations.
  • Proven track record of managing multi-site warehouse operations and leading large teams.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred, demonstrating a strong proficiency in process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive team performance.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management and budgeting.
  • Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in the latest logistics technology, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to logistics and transportation, including safety and environmental regulations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
