The Opportunity: As a Storytellers and Surrogates Manager, you will support the Biden-Harris Wisconsin communications team in organizing press events and finding and training storytellers across a wider range of topics.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Work with regional press secretaries, and political and organizing teams to find and develop local storytellers who can participate in the campaign’s earned media opportunities.
  • Work with storytellers and electeds to prepare for interviews and press events.
  • Support the organization and execution of press events and surrogate tours, including pitch calls and set up/take down of the event.
  • Support the communications team’s organization, including keeping storyteller lists updated.
  • Manage direct reports in all aspects of their work and support their success in the role by conducting relevant coaching conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and creating an inclusive and engaging team culture. More specific tasks could include but are not limited to:
    • Managing and reviewing time off requests
    • Hiring new team members
    • Having constructive conversations with team members on performance
    • Building rapport and trust within your team
    • Leading projects and delegating tasks
  • Staff events as necessary.
  • On-year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election preparation as necessary.
