How do we make our fantastic kitchenware? Nordic Ware has subject matter experts in new product design, manufacturing processes, quality, planning, environmental and finance. Our BOM Specialist gathers information from these experts to build a story of how we design, manufacture, package, and sell our products to the Consumer. This story is stored in our Epicor ERP system within a bill of materials framework. Our BOM Specialist is a highly collaborative and technical role in a unique manufacturing industry. What you will get to do:

  • Develop comprehensive BOMs for all products, incorporating all necessary components, materials, specifications, and assemblies.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to create, update, and manage BOMs, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
  • Maintain version control of BOMs to track changes, revisions, and updates throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with engineering changes and updates.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to gather necessary information and ensure BOM accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of BOMs to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or errors, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the accuracy of BOMs by carefully reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on BOM-related processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize BOM structures and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase accuracy.
  • Ensure BOMs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements, through working with the Compliance Manager.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a BOM-focused role in a manufacturing or production environment required. Experience working with Bills of Materials and Parts in an ERP system highly preferred.

  • Associate's degree or some college preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Strong communication skills are required, particularly the ability to prepare clear, concise, professional written and verbal communications.

  • Possess the ability to gather, organize and analyze large amounts of data and information with great attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to extract insights from large datasets.

  • Be able to work both independently and within a team framework.

  • The ability to understand of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
