Today Cedars supports nearly 200 adults across Marin County who are working artists, weavers, jewelry-makers, gardeners, animal caretakers, chefs, neighbors, community volunteers, and much more

Cedars is looking to hire a superstar Development Coordinator in our Development Department. In this role you will report to the Director of Development and join a dynamic team in sharing Cedars mission with the greater community and providing financial security for the organization.

As the Development Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Development Director in creating and implementing the Development plan, which includes annual fundraising campaigns, major donors, legacy giving, grants, business sponsorships, social media and special events.
  • Manage Cedars donor database, including recording donations and donor information. Design and run reports and analyze results.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed including creating donor acknowledgement letters, filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc.
  • Work with committees and Director of Development in planning events. Help with event preparation, attend events to assist with set up, implementation, and clean up.
  • Assist in Grant research and tracking.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop and execute marketing campaigns, digital marketing strategy, printed collateral, and updating and posting content to Cedars website and social media.
  • Attend networking events with the Director of Development to expand Cedars community outreach.
  • Help to coordinate with community organizations and local schools to facilitate community partnership projects.

In this role you'll have the chance to learn what it takes to have a successful career in non-profit fundraising, marketing, and relationship management The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. The rate of pay is $27-$30 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • An understanding of and belief in the mission of Cedars of Marin.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Experience working in database systems and donor management software, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of social media and website management.
  • A desire to learn how to become an impactful development professional.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook, and various databases. Experience with Neon CRM, Mail Chimp, Wix, and Microsoft Teams a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow through with minimal direction.
  • Attention to detail, project management and strong organizational skills is a must.
  • Ability to work with compassion, patience and understanding in an environment shared with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to pass an employment physical including a TB test, and to meet the physical requirements of the job.
  • A valid DMV driver's license and a willingness to drive a passenger van.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications or the willingness to acquire both.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check with the FBI and DOJ.
  • An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor a plus
