About the Youth Development Department:
The Youth Development Department aims to equip youth from kindergarten to high school with the skills necessary for college and career readiness. Our programs encompass after-school activities that emphasize tutoring, life skills, and leadership development.

Compensation: $28-30 per hour, dependent on experience; Full-time position with an expected workload of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Staff Development (35%):

  • Supervise and mentor program assistants, volunteers, and interns to ensure effective program delivery.

  • Maintain a professional development training schedule in alignment with funding requirements.
  • Organize annual retreats and team-building activities.
2. Administrative Duties (10%):
  • Collaborate with the Youth Development Program Manager to create annual work plans.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures for various youth programs.
  • Coordinate procurement of program supplies and food.
  • Assist in planning special events and field trips.
  • Compile reports on program impact and participant stories.
  • Support recruitment efforts for after-school and summer programs.
  • Attend relevant events and meetings as required.
3. Direct Client Engagement (65%):
  • Design and implement culturally relevant curricula focused on identity, job readiness, leadership, and wellness.
  • Conduct outreach to engage youth, families, and schools for program enrollment.
  • Build collaborative relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide referrals to additional services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and progress documentation.
  • Support year-round activities, including academic workshops and recreational outings.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in direct service with youth from underserved communities and at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, data entry, and CRM systems. Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
