About the Youth Development Department:
The Youth Development Department aims to equip youth from kindergarten to high school with the necessary skills for college and career readiness. Our programs encompass after-school activities, tutoring, life skills training, and leadership development, ensuring a holistic approach to youth empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Support (35%):

  • Staff Management and Development (25/35):
    • Facilitate the onboarding and supervision of program assistants, volunteers, and interns to ensure effective program delivery.
    • Organize regular team meetings to foster collaboration and resource sharing.
    • Maintain a professional development training schedule in accordance with funding requirements.
    • Coordinate annual retreats and team-building activities.
  • Administrative Duties (10/35):
    • Collaborate with the Youth Development Program Manager to create annual work plans.
    • Monitor and manage project budgets effectively.
    • Coordinate supply purchases for programs.
    • Assist in planning special events and field trips.
    • Compile impact reports and participant stories as needed.
    • Support recruitment efforts for program participation.
    • Attend relevant events and meetings as required.
Direct Client Engagement (65%):
  • Design and implement culturally relevant curricula focusing on Identity, Job Readiness, Leadership, Academic Enrichment, and Health and Wellness.
  • Conduct outreach to engage youth, families, and schools for program enrollment.
  • Build collaborative relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Provide referrals to additional services and resources as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation.
  • Support year-round activities, including academic workshops and recreational outings.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in direct service with youth from underserved communities.
    • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
    • Familiarity with Positive Youth Development Framework and Youth Program Quality Assessment Principles.
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and CRM systems.
  • Additional Qualities:
    • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
    • Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
    • Ability to pass background checks.
