"The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) is a new agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It is a research funding agency that supports transformative biomedical and health breakthroughs to provide health solutions for all. ARPA-H accelerates better health outcomes for everyone by supporting the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. These opportunities will advance high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research that cannot be readily accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity. SD Solutions is seeking an experienced and proactive Intermediate New Start Support professional to join our team. This role is pivotal in assisting the agency with the initiation and management of new projects aimed at catalyzing innovative health solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, project management experience, and a passion for health research and innovation at ARPA-H. Responsibilities Include

  • Assist in the planning and execution of new project starts, including defining objectives, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gather necessary information and align project goals with ARPA-H's strategic priorities.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of project proposals, progress, and key milestones.
  • Conduct background research and analysis on emerging topics in health technology and innovation to support new project development.
  • Evaluate potential projects and initiatives for feasibility, impact, and alignment with ARPA-H's mission.
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries and recommendations based on research findings for leadership review.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and government agencies, to gather insights and support for new initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication among team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Represent ARPA-H at relevant events and workshops, promoting agency initiatives and fostering collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including proposals, reports, agendas, and meeting notes.
  • Monitor project implementation and performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and briefings for internal and external audiences.

Requirements Overview

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Biomedical Science, Project Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, new initiative support, or health research within a government or research environment.
  • Prefer at least 1 year experience supporting DARPA or related Federal "ARPA" agencies (IARPA, ARPA-E, ARPA-H, HSARPA).
  • Alternate preferable experience at NIH, CDC, FDA, Public Health Service, NSF, USDA, State Health Department, or Local Health Department.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for distilling complex information into digestible content tailored to different audiences.

  •       Clearance requirement: Active or able to obtain Public Trust.
  •       U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
