Motor City Seafood Company is seeking a reliable and motivated Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team in Highland Park. Primary Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable/Collection Specialist will be responsible for setting up new customers on terms based upon review of credit references, monitor accounts daily, and proactively follow up with customer on outstanding accounts receivables. Additional responsibilities include communicating by phone and email to manage the process of collections, working to minimize past due balances, the resolution of customer billing issues, working with the Sales team to set up and manage accounts, and providing timely reporting to the financial team.


Essential Duties

As an Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the company's incoming revenue and maintaining positive relationships with customers or clients. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Implement credit checks to set up new customers on net term.
  • Daily monitoring of all accounts to ensure product is not being sent to accounts past due.
  • Lead collection activities to ensure all past due amounts are collected preventing the aging of current balances.
  • Respond to customer account inquiries and make collection calls in a timely, polite, and professional manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Resolve client-invoicing problems and issue credits, when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Financial teams, providing timely follow-up on payment arrangements, reporting, and communicating account delinquencies.
  • Collect and track scheduled customer payments in accordance with the payment due dates.

Work Schedule

The Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday from 9am until 5pm however, schedule is subject to change.


Pay & Benefits

  • Hourly range of $22-$28 commensurate with experience level.
  • Paid Vacation and Personal Time after 90 days.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist will work on site at our new state of the art production facility in Highland Park, Michigan.


Required Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have minimum of two years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience.
  • Strong Communication and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to work well with other in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity in Microsoft Dynamics, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and with the ability to learn and adapt to new software.
  • Knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection.
