Position: Program Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day supervision, training, coaching, and development of evening and Saturday staff for our Beacon programs. Beacon programs are collaborative, school-based community centers designed to support individuals of all ages in developing the skills and mindset needed for success in educational and career settings. As a Program Coordinator, you will support the Assistant Director and Beacon Director in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with school leadership, site directors, agency colleagues, and other stakeholders. You will also manage outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention of participants and families.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all policies, practices, and guidelines of QCH and regulatory agencies for licensing and contractual requirements.
  • Assist with outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and retention of participants, families, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely and consistent communication with supervisors, direct reports, school administration, program staff, funders, and key stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to email requests, phone calls, and messages, especially for time-sensitive matters.
  • Design and lead in-house and external learning, recreational, arts, and developmental activities for youth.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate special events such as showcases, training sessions, and parent meetings as needed.
  • Supervise Beacon operations in the absence of the Beacon Director and Assistant Director.
  • Attend and potentially plan for and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in agency and funder databases, and submit reports on time.
  • Handle emergencies appropriately, following proper protocols and documentation, and adjust protocols as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree required.
  • Ability to relate to young people and staff as a positive adult role model.
  • Experience in program outreach, recruitment, performance-based contracting, and compliance with School Age Child Care licensing procedures.
  • Must meet requirements for and maintain all New York State and New York City Department of Education clearances.
  • Medical clearance from a licensed New York State physician.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Classroom.
  • Ability to work with participants both in-person and remotely.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, planning, organizational, reading, writing, and public speaking skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish or other languages.

Status: Full-Time
