Position Info:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities related to the installation, verification, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment and network infrastructure.
  • Manage network ports, ethernet, optical fiber cabling, IP networks, LAN infrastructure, and UPS systems.
  • Program and establish voice and data networks, activating remote access tools.
  • Test and reprogram circuits, equipment, and alarms to verify service.
  • Document network configurations and programming.
  • Analyze network performance and prepare reports.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network outages and update documentation.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • 2-5 years' experience in deskside and/or on-site network support.
    • Experience supporting Cisco-centric WAN, LAN, and WLAN environments, including racks, hubs, routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
    • Ability to monitor and manage systems, respond to alerts, and document root causes.
    • Experience with wireless LAN controllers and Lightweight Access Points (preferably Cisco).
    • Basic understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security protocols (WPA2, EAP-TLS, 802.1x, AAA).
  • Preferred:
    • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
    • Network industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA.
    • Experience with incident management tools like Remedy and/or ServiceNow.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
    • Ability to write technical documentation and specifications.

Additional Information: The role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background in telecommunications and network support, capable of working independently and as part of a team. The candidate must effectively communicate technical information to a diverse audience and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
