The IT Specialist II plays a crucial role in supporting various defense operations, ensuring that all deliverables adhere to established timelines and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain both network and standalone servers, workstations, and network access.
  • Diagnose and resolve system anomalies to guarantee optimal equipment functionality.
  • Prepare systems for operational deployment and assist in operational testing.
  • Address AIS vulnerabilities and implement necessary countermeasures as directed.
  • Ensure that AIS and network nodes are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and protocols.
  • Administer VTC systems, including scheduling and configuration as required.
  • Provide direct client support for network-related issues.
  • Handle account creation, modifications, and deletions.
  • Deliver multi-tier help desk support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Conduct hardware and software system configurations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Support desktop and laptop configuration and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IA controls.
  • Engage in continuous monitoring of systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the DoD/IC or related industry, including at least 1 year in an SAP and/or SCI environment within the last 5 years.
  • Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) is preferred; similar program experience may be considered with customer approval.
  • Must meet position and certification requirements as outlined in DoD Directive M for Information Assurance Technician Level 1 or 2.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in remediating vulnerabilities.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2008/2012/2016), Microsoft Exchange Server (2010/2013/2016), and Microsoft Windows OS (7/10) administration and associated hardware.
  • Familiarity with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies, as well as data backup technologies, including communication security (COMSEC) integration.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and effectively collaborate with various DoD, military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Demonstrated originality, creativity, and initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines with demanding performance expectations.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to successfully complete a government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly).
