Overall Position Purpose

The Director of Brand Strategy & Communications position exists to provide strategic oversight and tactical execution of organizational branding, communications, media relations, social media and creative services. The Director of Brand Strategy & Communications will promote and support the Inteleos culture of inclusivity.


Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a holistic communication strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, enhances brand visibility, supports business objectives, and ensures a strategic and cohesive approach across both long-term and short-term communication plans;
  • Establish and maintain a consistent brand identity across all communication/content channels, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure brand messaging reflects organizational values and resonates with target audiences;
  • Oversee organization’s social media strategy, planning and implementation for optimal organic engagement and brand recognition, ensuring the creation of multimedia content that is engaging, relevant, and aligned with brand messaging;
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, articles, and multimedia materials, ensuring that all content is compelling, consistent, and aligned with the organization's brand messaging;
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers; respond to media inquiries promptly and effectively, ensuring accurate representation of the organization;
  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies that foster a cohesive organizational culture, keeping employees informed and engaged in company developments;
  • Develop and regularly update crisis and issues communication plans and protocols to protect the organization's reputation during challenging situations; act as a proficient spokesperson during crises, ensuring transparent and consistent communication;
  • Establish and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and OKRs to optimize the effectiveness of communication and brand strategies;
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a skilled and motivated communications team; provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment;
  • Develop and implement robust project management processes to ensure the timely delivery of creative materials, establishing clear workflows and communication channels to optimize collaboration within the creative team and with other departments;
  • Collaborate with other departments to align creative initiatives with organizational objectives, ensuring the seamless integration of creative services into the broader communication and brand strategy;
  • Work closely with the brand strategy team to translate messaging into visually compelling content, while also implementing and enforcing consistent application of visual elements to enhance and strengthen the organization's brand identity;
  • Diversify content types to meet the needs of different communication channels and target audiences; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Environment

  • Works under executive guidance, with considerable latitude in determining work objectives.

Work Environment

The incumbent will work at a desk in an office environment or an approved remote location. This position may require evening and weekend hours, as well as occasional travel. There are minimal requirements to lift or move equipment.

Requirements:

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Certification in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent experience in related field;
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Creative Director and/or Visual Brand Manager;
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in senior-level communications and brand strategy;
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a management role; and
  • Project management experience in a multi-project environment.

  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editing skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively;

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to review and ensure the accuracy of work products with limited supervision;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively, efficiently, and professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and lead cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stressful conditions and assist in building and maintaining a positive culture in the department and organization;
  • Experience with digital communication tools and platforms, including social media management and analytics;
  • Proficiency with creating and maintaining departmental budgets, demonstrating strong financial acumen;
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrating a track record of successful project delivery;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic communication plans at a senior level; and
  • Familiarity with crisis communication strategies and media relations, with experience handling high-stakes situations.
