We are seeking to add an Office Administrator to our growing team. This could be an amazing opportunity to make a difference in your community while working in a job you love We plan to start this position as soon as possible.

Doggy Lama Pet Care offers a positive-reinforcement (R+)-oriented pet care experience to support families in the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Alameda). We are an award-winning business focused on safety, communication, and fun 

The Office Administrator position:

  • General administrative tasks (working with new client leads, scheduling staff, customer service, payroll, etc.)
  • Office location is 7574 Altura Pl, Oakland, CA 94605, but some remote work is also possible. 
  • We will need an administrator who can consistently work Monday - Friday from 1pm - 5pm.
  • We would prefer if the administrator could also assist us as needed in the morning with animal care work (dog walking, puppy playgroups, etc.). 
  • We expect this role to start at 20-30 hours per week and can grow based on performance, client demand, and staffing levels. 
Compensation:

$23 / hour (higher rates of pay available for evening, weekend, and holiday work)
$1800 - $2700 / month
  • Employee reviews with compensation increases based on performance.
  • Earn up to 60 hours per year of paid time off to use for sick, vacation, or personal time.

The ideal candidate:
  • We prefer a candidate who is comfortable working independently but also as part of a larger team. A self-motivated individual. A candidate who is ready to ask questions. 
  • Strong attention to detail, time management skills, organizational skills, and adaptability are all critical components of this position.
  • Any knowledge of the following programs would be helpful: Pet Sitter Plus, Trello, Formstack, Google Suite, Squarespace, Everlance, Paychex.
  • Comfortable with a wide variety of breeds, ages, and sizes - especially handling puppies in small groups. 
  • Candidates with experience implementing social media for a commercial business will have special consideration. 
  • A candidate comfortable communicating with management, staff, and clients via phone, text, email, and messenger. You may need to meet with staff in the office or out in the field. We do encounter sensitive situations, and customer service experience would be most helpful in this position.   
  • An honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate, who can provide our client's dogs and cats with the highest quality visits possible.
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.
  • Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.
  • This will not always be a desk job. The candidate should enjoy an active work environment, working independently and outdoors in all four seasons.
