Engineering Industries, an employee-owned organization, is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to work as part of a team to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing a team of machine operators. This position requires excellent interpersonal, and strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate the operations team, ensuring that production goals and quality standards are being met. This is a highly visible position and is an integral part of the manufacturing management team.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Carry out production plan daily by scheduling and assigning people to primary and secondary operations, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems to maintain a smooth production flow.
  • Select, coach, and develop direct reports.
  • Actively provide guidance and set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team and ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Manage employee performance, recognize achievements, provide feedback, and administer progressive discipline when necessary.
  • Ensure that operators are fully trained for all processes for which they are responsible.
  • Promote quality, teamwork, and organizational leadership.
  • Demonstrate leadership in all areas of production. This requires observing and enforcing rules and practices, encouraging safe and healthy work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors.
  • Recommend and/or implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Monitor production for variances and oversee the completion of required production records.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Works closely with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure the quality standards are attained or exceeded, and to identify reasons for quality problems. This position will also assist in providing corrective action information on a timely basis.
  • As needed, troubleshoot for molding and production process problems on the Production floor when Production Leads aren't available or as escalated.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High school diploma/equivalent required - bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, plastic injection molding is a plus
  • Minimum of two years in a supervisory role preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including team building, collaboration, conflict resolution, motivation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be versatile and maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities; articulate and convey thoughts and ideas to multiple audiences and exhibit a keen sense of ownership for operations and results
  • Comfortable making decisions and enforcing them, following set guidelines consistently
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications
