Role Summary:

The individual in this role will report directly to the Site Director and will be responsible for managing the operational activities of the facility. This includes ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, as well as optimizing production processes and equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Safety, Health, and Environmental programs in collaboration with the site EH&S Coordinator.
  • Assist the Site Director in managing plant operations, including Production, Maintenance, Logistics, and Planning.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation for maintenance and production, participating in design reviews as necessary.
  • Maintain production schedules to meet order requirements and manage finished goods inventory levels.
  • Oversee food and feed safety initiatives in partnership with the Quality Control and Assurance teams.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and supervise multiple direct reports.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Commercial teams during production scale-up and customer trials.
  • Manage operational costs and capital expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget commitments.
  • Lead incident investigations related to Quality, Safety, and Productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5+ years in production management within food, pharmaceutical, or high-purity chemical sectors.
  • Proven experience in production planning and process safety management.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and advanced troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to conduct effective on-the-job training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with bargaining units or unions is advantageous.
