WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will be responsible for the sustaining support of current products and providing support to the sales team on products and applications.

Your support in the planning, selection, and launch activities of products will be essential to Muncie Power’s growth strategies.

Product Launches and Updates

  • Assist in the selection and planning of new products
  • Assist in the development and launch of new manufactured products
  • Develop and update product catalogs, owner manuals, product service sheets, installation guidelines, sales/training material, product bulletins, ISO Controlled Documents, etc.
  • Assist the implementation of all new products while coordinating with other departments including sales and marketing
  • Generate CAD drawings and models as required
  • Assist in establishing product list prices

Sales, Markets, and Application Knowledge

  • Support sales with information on products and applications
  • Assist in sales report analysis
  • Assist field sales manager with engaging with target customers and opportunities
  • Assist in conducting periodic market evaluations
  • Assist in conducting competitive analysis of product lines as needed with engineering, design, quality, testing, etc.

New Product Development

  • Assist in making recommendations and evaluations on new product opportunities
  • Participate in or lead new product development teams
  • Assist in coordinating product concepts into production from sales and customers
  • Assist with new product research and development evaluation functions following established company practices, procedures, and objectives.
  • Assist in prototype installations when required and evaluate performance
  • Assist in modifying the design or mounting assembly of products to meet customer demands
  • Assist in performing or recommending design activities where applicable

Field Support of Key Growth Initiatives

  • Assist in providing technical expertise on products to help close the sale
  • Accompany and assist sales team members as required
  • Attend sales conferences and trade shows as required

YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, mechanical, industrial engineering, or other applicable degrees or A.A.S. degrees, plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on the technical side of products
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an engineering capacity preferred
  • Experience working with CAD software
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed oriented drawings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Flexible to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments
  • Willing to travel when necessary
  • Previous mechanical or industrial type products, product management support, or fluid power experience a plus
