As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be joining the Finance team as one of the Payroll Specialists who have the responsibility for processing a multi-state, weekly payroll for over 2000 (and growing) non-exempt employees. This position requires a good understanding of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, state, and local tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre- and post-tax benefits. It also requires excellent customer service skills fielding inquiries from our over 8,000 employees in 16 states.

  • Process weekly multi-state payroll using UKG
  • Oversee automated timecard process, garnishments, and changes to taxes & other benefits.
  • Generate payroll reports.
  • Respond to payroll related questions and employment verifications.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all departments.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, multi-state required.
  • High level of discretion to maintain confidentiality.
  • Well organized and very detail oriented.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • College degree strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer aptitude with high proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
