What you will be doing:

  • Oversee acceptance of MRB dispositions for airframe non-conformances in coordination with structures ODA unit member
  • Represent liaison engineering in MRB process of airframe non-conformance; serve as primary analytical support for disposition of non-standard repairs
  • Substantiate proposed resolutions for MRB actions via classical hand analysis techniques, querying Finite Element Models to obtain internal loads, and ensure static strength and fatigue life requirements are maintained
  • Analyze and disposition production airframe minor non-conformances through standard repair methods
  • Prepare FAA required aircraft type certification reports showing compliance with proper FAA /foreign regulations on all structural components by either analysis or test
  • Support the expansion of the Standard Manufacturing Repair Manual
  • Mentor junior engineers

What you need to qualify:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
  • 7+ years' structural analysis experience
  • Direct experience with MRB structural analysis strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of FAA Regulation 14 CFR parts 21 and 23, Joint Aviation Requirement (JAR), and Civil Aviation Authority (CAR) 3
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft structures, materials and processes specifications, and certification requirements
  • Current or former DER / ODA Unit Member with structures authority, or the ability to obtain structures authority strongly preferred
