ALM of New England (Terrace Communities) has a great opportunity available for an Accountant in their Manchester, VT office. ALM of New England owns and operates Assisted Living Facilites.


The Accountant will serve as the Financial Expert and primary facilitator of all financial matters for assigned portfolio of Assisted Living Facilities. The ideal candidate will have 2 plus years of real estate accounting experience. The accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:


Responsibilities
Produce monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements
Prepare variance analyses on a monthly basis. Budget vs. Actual
Maintain the monthly and year-end Audit Workpapers
Responsible for General Ledger account reconciliations (record journal entries, record monthly accruals, etc.)
Manage Cash Balances
Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations
Participate in the Budget Process
Analyze and prepare Depreciation and Fixed Asset schedules on a monthly basis
Maintain Prepaid and Accrued Expense Schedules
Review Rent Rolls for accuracy
Review invoice coding for consistency and accuracy of coding
Special projects as needed by Management
Qualifications
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Property/Real estate accounting experience highly desired
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products. Business Works software a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to Detail and Accuracy is a must
Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
Motivated and driven to achieve excellence
High degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and maturity
A team player with a positive attitude.

Experience: Accounting: 2-3 years (Preferred)
Education: High school or equivalent (Required), Accounting Degree Preferred
Work Location: Manchester, VT
Job Type: Full-time
