Position Overview

The Ladders is on the lookout for a full-time Fund Accountant. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and reporting, coupled with robust general ledger capabilities, analytical prowess, and interpersonal skills. The Fund Accountant will oversee the entire accounting process, from data entry to general ledger closure and reconciliation.

This position is designed to be hybrid, with an expectation of in-office presence for at least four days a week. The Ladders thrives in a dynamic, professional, and entrepreneurial atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting tasks for assigned fund series.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations and bank account closures as required.
  • Perform fund analysis and reporting to support critical decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external tax consultants for annual K-1 tax activities.
  • Propose process enhancements to improve daily operations and financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of routine and ad-hoc financial statements for management review.
  • Address inquiries promptly and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Engage with investor relations, investment teams, legal, corporate accounting, and executive management on fund-related matters.
  • Collect relevant investment documentation.
  • Develop a solid understanding of investment capital structures to assist in recording portfolio company valuation updates.
  • Collaborate with the Fund Accounting team on time-sensitive projects and initiatives to align with company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business management.
  • Three to five years of accounting experience.
  • Intermediate accounting skills complemented by strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team setting and open to training across all accounting areas.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal staff and external partners.
Compensation: $75,000-$90,000 plus equity and bonus
