ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Process and reconcile payroll GL entry files
  • Reconcile employee benefit GL entries
  • Maintain listing of Loans Held for Investment (LHFI) and Non-Performing Loans
  • Respond to and maintain requests for buyouts, repurchased loans, and modifications
  • Track accounts receivable and extraordinary items
  • Lead on all LoanCare queries, questions, and research
  • Prepare sub servicing entries and lead on subsequent research
  • Calculate and record interest due on LHFI and Loans Held for Sale portfolios
  • Prepares invoice allocation entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Transfers for cash accounts not limited to payroll, 401K, and delinquent investor accounts
  • Assist with wire transfers
  • Process remote deposit checks and accounting mail
  • Reconcile operating cash accounts daily
  • Provide backup for AP and processes check payments
  • Prepares annual 1099 reports and files with respective state and federal agencies
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to research, interpret and administer accounting rules.
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting systems, LOS and compensation systems. Preferably FISERV – Prologue, nCino – Compensafe, and Ice Mortgage – Encompass.
  • Prior accounting experience in the mortgage or banking industry preferred.
  • Loan Servicing knowledge.
  • Reconciliation knowledge.
  • Ability to adapt to change and function effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Highly driven with a strong attention to details to ensure timely and accurate reporting.


EDUCATION:


  • Associates Degree in Accounting or working towards a degree
  • Or relevant Accounting work experience


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee is required to effectively communicate verbally. The employee must be able to effectively operate a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds. Vision abilities is required by this job include close vision.
