In keeping with our mission, the JCC is actively seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and employee record maintenance under the supervision of the Senior Human Resources Generalist.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality for all employee information
  • Assists with the recruiting process including posting and managing job information in our HRIS system (Paycom), sourcing candidates, and maintaining applicant files per federal and state requirements
  • Manage New Employee Onboarding:
    • Create new employee files on the shared drive and HRIS system
    • Process I-9 Documentation and E-Verification
    • Process background checks
    • Prepare and type correspondence as needed
    • Establish and maintain employee records, including recommending new approaches and procedures to effect continual improvements to processes
    • Ensure benefits enrollments are processed and submitted to payroll
    • Collaborate with the Payroll Specialist to ensure correct processing of compensation, benefit, and personnel information during the Onboarding Process
  • Ensure employee compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, credentialing, and other role requirements.
  • Conduct and run reports as directed by Senior Human Resources Generalist
  • Administrative Duties including Filing, Faxing, Copying, Sorting, etc
  • Assist with other duties and projects as assigned

Other Duties/Responsibilities Required

  • Adheres to JCC Policy and Procedures
  • Performs duties as workload necessitates
  • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude
  • Communicates regularly with the Senior Human Resources Generalist about departmental issues
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and the ability to prioritize workload

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Strong computer aptitude a must
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest and desire to learn and grow knowledge in Human Resources field is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with information management or HRIS systems
  • Experience with data entry and a high attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a detail-oriented, multi-task environment, meeting deadlines and setting priorities under pressure

 

Physical/Mental Requirements (ADA Compliance)

  • Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, cope with stress, maintain the highest degree of confidentiality, adapt to and stay alert in a business environment
  • Ability to remain in the sitting position for prolonged hours
  • In order to perform the essential duties of the job, the employee must be able to speak, hear, see and walk up to 1 mile each day
  • Repeated standing and occasional sitting on the floor during the day
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Working conditions may include being in an open (shared) cubical or workspace area

Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act.

 

Benefits Overview

Full-Time employees of the JCC are considered benefits-eligible.

 The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental, and vision plan premiums. The JCC proudly pays for 100% of Basic Life Insurance, AD&D, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage for benefits eligible employees. We also provide additional voluntary benefit plans.

 The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age with no waiting period. The JCC matches 50% of employee contributions, up to 3%, on a 5-year vesting schedule.

 Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with Colorado Health Families & Workplaces Act. First-year, benefits-eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in their first year of service. The JCC also provides paid-holidays and benefits-eligible employees are awarded up to 4 additional “Floating Holidays” per year, prorated based on date of hire
