Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of heavy machinery and equipment within a designated territory. This role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients, and ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional service and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Business Development:

    • Identify and target potential customers in the construction, mining, agriculture, and other relevant industries.
    • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and grow market share.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed presentations to potential clients.
    • Negotiate contracts and close sales, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and the customer.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster repeat business and referrals.
    • Address and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
    • Provide after-sales support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and equipment performance.
  3. Market Research and Analysis:

    • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new opportunities and threats.
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve sales strategies and product offerings.
    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of heavy equipment features, benefits, and industry applications.
  4. Sales Administration:

    • Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, reports, and documentation as required.
    • Manage the sales pipeline and track progress using CRM software.
    • Coordinate with the finance and logistics teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
  5. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
    • Collaborate with the service department to address any technical issues and provide comprehensive solutions to customers.
    • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and company meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the heavy equipment or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, including its applications and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.

Working Conditions:

  • This role may require frequent travel to meet with clients and visit job sites.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet customer needs.
