Job Summary: The Heavy Equipment Territory Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business and managing existing accounts within a specific territory. This role requires a deep understanding of heavy equipment and strong sales skills to meet or exceed sales targets while providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Business Development:

    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve territory sales goals.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential customers.
    • Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
    • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and manage the sales cycle from initial contact to closing.
  2. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
    • Provide excellent customer service and support, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
    • Conduct regular follow-ups with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and explore additional sales opportunities.
  3. Product Knowledge & Demonstrations:

    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s heavy equipment products, services, and solutions.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients and key stakeholders.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
  4. Sales Administration:

    • Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts, and quotations to clients.
    • Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements and close deals.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market data in the CRM system.
  5. Reporting & Analysis:

    • Monitor and report on sales performance, territory metrics, and market conditions.
    • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide regular reports and updates to management on territory performance and progress toward targets.
  6. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to align strategies and enhance the customer experience.
    • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to represent the company and build industry connections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Proven track record of sales experience, preferably in heavy equipment or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment products, features, and applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
