Heavy Equipment Sales Manager

Job Summary: The Heavy Equipment Territory Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business and managing existing accounts within a specific territory. This role requires a deep understanding of heavy equipment and strong sales skills to meet or exceed sales targets while providing exceptional customer service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve territory sales goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential customers.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and manage the sales cycle from initial contact to closing.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Provide excellent customer service and support, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and explore additional sales opportunities.
Product Knowledge & Demonstrations:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company’s heavy equipment products, services, and solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients and key stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements.
Sales Administration:
- Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts, and quotations to clients.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements and close deals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market data in the CRM system.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Monitor and report on sales performance, territory metrics, and market conditions.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on territory performance and progress toward targets.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer service to align strategies and enhance the customer experience.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to represent the company and build industry connections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Proven track record of sales experience, preferably in heavy equipment or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment products, features, and applications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
