Up and coming Civil Engineering firm in the Orange County area, is looking to hire a Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic public works team. This role involves planning, supervising, and participating in a major engineering section, providing professional and technical engineering support for a variety of projects

 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Develops broad knowledge and skills in public works civil engineering, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water quality (LID, WQMP, SWPPP, SMARTS) and utilities.

·        Evaluates, selects, and applies applicable standard plans/manuals, techniques, procedures, and criteria for conventional projects with few complex features.

·        Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of projects.

·        Works on small projects or portions of larger projects.

·        Performs moderate drainage design, hydrology and hydraulics analysis tasks.

·        Performs moderate storm water quality tasks.

·        Prepares portions of project technical reports, plans, specifications and estimates.

·        Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry- level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.

·        Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

·        Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.

·        Assists with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

 

 

Qualifications:

·        Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of California with a minimum of 5 years of Public Works design experience

·        Preparing civil engineering documents, estimates and specifications

 

Skills:

·        Acquires, understands, and applies technical and professional knowledge and skills to perform job effectively, efficiently, and safely. Understands and adheres to the company’s policies and procedures. Stays abreast of trends and pending changes within assigned area of responsibility.

·        Establishes, enforces, and drives policies that promotes Company vision and culture to achieve company objectives.

·        Strong business acumen. Offers excellent communication and presentation skills in an organized, professional manner.

·        Ability to nurture and maintain key relationships internally and externally through communication and diplomacy.

·        Contributes to a positive and productive team-oriented environment. Offers open communication/feedback within the team. Minimizes conflict and builds collaboration to maintain productive team.
