Position Overview
The State Water Resources Control Board is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Senior Engineering Geologist. This position is integral to the Groundwater Permitting, Land Disposal, and Wastewater Management sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Engineering Geologist will oversee the operations of the Land Disposal and Wastewater Management Unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise staff and manage workflows within the unit.
- Conduct thorough reviews of existing waste discharge requirements, providing recommendations for updates or continuations.
- Evaluate applications for completeness and compliance with established guidelines.
- Lead assessments of geological and hydrogeological aspects related to closure and post-closure plans for waste management units.
- Analyze geological materials and hydrogeological data to support decision-making processes.
- Implement the Wastewater Consolidation Program in alignment with legislative mandates.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project execution.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to the Regional Board.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong personal attributes such as integrity, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively. A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Additional Requirements:
- Include the RPA# in the application.
- Provide copies of degrees and transcripts as necessary.
- Possess a Professional Geologist (PG) license.
- Eligibility for the Senior Engineering Geologist list is mandatory.
