Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client, a well-respected San Antonio based utility company, is looking for an HR Specialist to join its team on contract basis. The HR Specialist will be responsible for providing administrative and/or technical work in support of processes or programs for any of the following Human Resources teams: Benefits, Compensation, Employee Relations, HRIS, Recruiting and other related functions.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday,  8:00 am - 5:00 pm 

The client will prefer experience in:

  • In-bound/out-bound customer phone calls
  • Front Desk Receptionist duties
  • Working with confidential documents


• Generates and/or prepares for completion documents, reports, presentations, and/or related materials.
• Researches, compiles, and analyzes data and summarizes findings in a written report, memorandum, or
general correspondence.
• Maintains and safeguards highly confidential data, databases, benefits and human resources records, and contracts.
• Assists with the development and implementation of methods and procedures for collecting, organizing,
interpreting, and classifying information and data.
• Receives, verifies, and processes employee records in HR system(s), including but not limited to, changes in status, benefits enrollment, personnel requisitions, new hire and separation information, and time and
attendance transactions.
• Assists in the coordination and implementation of the New Employee Orientation programs.
• Provides back up for front desk staff and Senior Human Resources Specialist as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 
• High School Diploma or GED plus two years' administrative and/or technical experience in support of Human Resources programs or related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree from an institution accredited by a
recognized accrediting agency.
• Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work
schedules.

• Knowledge of processes and practices related to area of assignment.
• Skill in operating a personal computer and job-related software.
• Ability to compile, organize, and maintain accurate and complete records and files.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
