Position Overview: The HR Operations Specialist at BBSI San Jose plays a crucial role in supporting our Human Resources Consultants in delivering comprehensive HR services to business proprietors. This position is designed to enhance the management of human resources, ultimately contributing to the success and profitability of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver HR advisory services and solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
  2. Formulate HR policies, procedures, and initiatives tailored to the specific needs outlined in client action plans.
  3. Assist HR Consultants in providing HR guidance, training, and support to clients.
  4. Offer situational HR advice to select clients as challenges and inquiries arise.
  5. Collaborate with Payroll Specialists and HR Consultants to optimize the onboarding process for new clients.
  6. Support the internal business unit with essential administrative tasks.
  7. Help gather client renewal information in preparation for renewal discussions.
  8. Learn the intricacies of payroll processing to provide backup support for Payroll Specialists.
  9. Oversee workers' compensation claims administration and liaise with Third Party Claims Administrators.
  10. Commit to ongoing professional development in HR, supplemented by mentorship from senior HR Consultants.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities with a positive attitude.
  2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Intermediate proficiency in all MS Office applications.
  4. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance that meets company standards.
  5. Willingness to travel locally, with occasional overnight trips.

Educational Background:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  2. 3-5 years of relevant HR experience preferred; PHR, SPHR, CP, or SCP certifications are highly desirable.
  3. Experience or familiarity with payroll processing and knowledge of wage and hour regulations is advantageous.
  4. Additional experience in operations or business outside of HR is beneficial.
  5. Demonstrated ability to create and deliver effective presentations and training sessions for diverse audiences.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting hourly wage for this role is competitive and may vary based on factors such as location, skills, education, experience, and certifications. This position is also eligible for incentive compensation in accordance with the company's profit-sharing plan.
