Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an Architecture Firm

Job Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the architecture firm. This role involves strategic planning, financial management, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the firm. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive financial strategy and support the firm's growth and success.Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the firm's goals and objectives.
    • Lead the preparation and management of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
    • Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, auditing, tax, and treasury functions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk to maintain the firm's financial stability.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Provide financial leadership and guidance to the executive team and department managers.
    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial efficiency and support for design and construction projects.
    • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.
  • Strategic Growth and Development:
    • Evaluate and manage investment opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions.
    • Support the development of business strategies, market opportunities, and long-term growth plans.
    • Drive innovation and digital transformation in financial processes and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the architecture or professional services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in financial management within a creative or design-focused environment.
  • Ability to balance financial acumen with an understanding of the unique needs and culture of an architecture firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
