Events Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Management:
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple high-profile events celebrating the USMC 250th birthday, including ceremonies, parades, receptions, and public outreach programs.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations, ensuring all events are executed on schedule and within budget.
- Coordination and Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the Marine Corps and external stakeholders, including media, government agencies, and community organizations.
- Coordinate with various departments, units, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and execution of event plans.
- Communication and Media Relations:
- Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, event invitations, and promotional materials to enhance public awareness and engagement.
- Manage media relations, including organizing press conferences, handling media inquiries, and ensuring accurate and timely coverage of events.
- Content Creation:
- Write speeches, talking points, and other communication materials for senior Marine Corps officials and speakers at events.
- Oversee the creation of digital content, including social media posts, website updates, and multimedia presentations.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead event planning staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support throughout the planning and execution phases.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, ensuring all members are aligned with the project’s goals and objectives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in public affairs is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public affairs, multi-state event management, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing high-profile events.
- Clearance: Must hold current and active Top Secret security clearance.
- Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in media relations and content creation.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, digital marketing, and multimedia production.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Military Experience: Prior service in the Marine Corps or other military branch is highly desirable. Reservists strongly encouraged to apply.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel in support of all events noted.
- Must be able to maintain your Top Secret security clearance.
