Job Summary:
As a Traffic Operator in the mining and commodities trading business, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the transportation and logistics of mining commodities such as minerals, metals, and ores. You will ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from the mine to the end customer, while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any transportation issues.
Prepare and manage all necessary shipping and export documentation, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
Issue timely and accurate sales invoices based on requests to ensure efficient billing processes.
Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and shipping companies to arrange transport and negotiate rates.
Plan and coordinate the transportation of mining commodities via road and sea.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of shipments and transactions.
Coordinate with warehouses and storage facilities to manage stock movements and storage conditions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment inquiries and updates.
Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to transportation and delivery.
Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the transportation of mining commodities.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in the mining or commodities trading industry.
Knowledge of international trade regulations and documentation requirements.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English required; knowledge of Spanish and/or French is a plus.
